ABOUT

UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON EUPHONIUM STUDIO

The UH Euphonium Studio is a welcoming and supportive community of passionate musicians and people dedicated to artistic growth and excellence. Students perform in a variety of ensembles, including our three performing wind ensembles, chamber groups, and athletic bands. With degree opportunities at the undergraduate (BM), master’s (MM), and doctoral levels (DMA), the studio prepares students for careers in education, performance, and more. Located in the heart of Houston—a thriving professional music city—students have access to abundant private teaching, freelancing, and networking opportunities. Led by experienced faculty, the studio fosters a collaborative and inclusive environment where each student is encouraged to develop their unique voice as a musician and teacher.

School of Music Application – Moores School of Music Undergraduate and Graduate Deadline is DEC 1

How many openings in the studio do you anticipate for Fall 2025?

We anticipate between 2-3 euphonium openings available each year (BM, MM, or DMA)

Is it possible to set up a lesson and visit campus?

Absolutely! We can set up a prospective lesson, tour of the Moores School of Music, and even provide opportunities to meet other faculty and observe large ensemble rehearsals or classes. Contact Dr. Fenske (kdfenske@uh.edu) at any time to check availability.
